A newcomer in THEA’s Medical Library

A key tool to manage chronic corneal ulcers

The new book “Chronic Corneal Ulcers” is co-authored by Professor Marc Muraine and Doctor Julie Gueudry (France), Professor François Majo (Switzerland), Professor Bernard Duchesne (Belgium) and Professor Harminder Dua (UK).

The book is designed to be accessible to not just specialists but also young opthalmologists and non-specialists who study in the field of ophthalmology. It covers many different ways to classify and care for different types of chronic corneal ulcers.

Although many different treatments are presented, matrix therapies in particular are shown in detail.

After the discussion of different cell renewal theories and corneal epithelium healing, the reader is guided by decision trees throughout his diagnosis and given advice on which therapeutic approach they should follow.
